Did you go to work the first day and know how to do everything for your day-job within the first 8 hours? Then why do you think you know everything about carrying a deadly weapon daily after only a 4 or 6 hour CCW class?

Are you ready to take your skills to the next level? Lots of people believe they are prepared because they own a gun, “shoot pretty well” or “been hunting my whole life”. That’s shooting and shooting without time restraints at that. Fighting with a handgun looks nothing like what you have been previously taught.

This class is designed for participants who have just completed a Basic Pistol Training Course and are looking to continue training with additional classes and learn techniques. Believing you can simply strap on a firearm and not practice drawing under stress, clearing clothing garments and working basic malfunctions is simply a recipe for disaster.

Most CCW classes don’t teach much more than how a pistol operates. This class was designed to familiarize the participant with their handgun and principles of fighting. Along with a strong focus on the fundamentals of marksmanship and safety so that they will be better prepared for a real world lethal force engagement and additional training classes.

This course is designed for individuals with little to no handgun experience, and will also focus on developing the correct mindset for those who carry concealed on a daily basis.

Class Course Objectives and discussions include:

o Mindset for carrying and principles of concealed carrying daily

o Four firearm safety rules

o Medical training and/or first aid tools to carry and consider

o Your CCW pistol

o Your choice of carry method – gear selection and set-up

o Your back-up firearm (if you own or plan to carry one)

o Daily dress & cover garments

o The fundamentals of shooting a pistol (stance, grip, trigger manipulation, sight alignment and sight picture)

o Ready positions & training on a range

o Loading & unloading protocols

o Reducing malfunctions

o Dry-fire drills to practice for speed and accuracy

o Drills you can learn and practice in various positions

Equipment Required:

· Semi-automatic pistol/sidearm in caliber of your choice    (Rental firearms & holsters are available with advance notice prior to class)

· At least 450 rnd(s) of ammunition (no reloads except factory reloads)

· Fifty (50) rnd(s) of self-defense or carry ammo

· Three (3) pistol magazines (i.e., 14+ rnd[s]); five (5) pistol magazines for low capacity semi-automatic handguns

· Strong side holster or carry rig/holster you plan to carry daily  We highly recommend a hard style holster, such as Kydex™, especially if you plan to carry IWB (inside the waistband)   *Note: if you carry in a purse, bring an IWB holster as you may change your mind quickly during class

· Magazine holder (belt holder/magazine pouch)

· Eye and Ear Protection

· Ball cap/hat with a visor

· Proper range wear/gear required (*gloves are optional)   Please dress appropriately and in layers; instruction is indoor in classroom and outdoors on range and in live shoot house

· Pistol Cleaning Kit

· Lunch, snacks, beverage/s (bottle with a cap/lid)

Preregistration is preferred; $130.00 ($137.80 w/tax) preregistration; ETC Training Alumni may register for $120.00 ($127.20). You may place a $25.00 non-refundable deposit to reserve your space (remaining balance due upon check-in day of course).  Registration at the door on the day of the course is $140.00 ($148.40 with tax).  *Due to the amount of instructor manpower to offer this course, ETC reserves the right to require a four (4) student minimum participation level; all students should be registered by Wednesday, August 26th, 2020 or the class may be canceled or rescheduled (at our descrition).

Participants should arrive no later than 7:45 AM to complete necessary paperwork.

Firearm rental is available for class as well; $30.00 ($31.80 with tax) for the day with advance notification (ammunition is additional).
